Default i need help about ecu!!

hello guys....
i really need help!!
i bought 200HONDAcivic _cx_ 10 days ago..
and my honda goes 210-220 mile with per tank / full gas..
it s absolutly bad..

i asked to exOwner,

and he said

"" this car doesnt have _ecu_..
you have to buy a _ecu_ for this car..and it will go 300 miles at least..but now (without _ecu_) it spends more gas..""

and i went a serviceman..and he checked my car..

and he said,

"everything is normal..if your car doesnt have _ecu_ , transmisson doesnt work, check engine light gives signal etc..your car has ecu..your problem is not about _ecu_""

i really wonder..

DOES wrong ecu cause to spend a lot of gas? or without _ecu_?

why my car spend more gas than normal cars??

if i bought a new or used ecu , will my honda be normal??

i cant ask question people who around me, that's why,
my english skills not good ..
and i am really confused..

PLEASE HELP ME
THANKSS

and is it for my car or not? how can i know?

On the passenger side, lift up the carpet on the right hand top corner. Check the number on the ECU and make sure it's the one for the car. I'm not sure what code the ECU is for 2000 Civic CX's is, but maybe someone else can chime in.

Have you considered other possibilities? bad spark plugs or something? plenty of things will kill your miles per gallon. Do a tune up or something at least before you go off shoving out money for an ecu.

Its a P2E. If its not the right ECU, get the right ECU, if it is the right ECU look elsewhere for your mileage problem. On the '96 - '00 Civics remove the passenger's side plastic kick panel to access the ECU.

Ya it def has a ecu. The car wouldn't even move without a ecu. It won't turn on or start LOL. If u don't have a p2e then get one. But it could be air/fuel filter , plugs , wires , ur driving , etc .

if i change air filter, fuel filter , how much percent do i see difference??
i went the other mechanic today,
to change air/fuel filter 's price is 58$..is it good or not?? can i make it myself?

and mechanic said me,"the spark plugs, spark plug wires are really good"

if i use different ecu, it doesnt cause to spend a lot of gas, right?

i think my problem is not easy..it really spend gas much more than as usual..

and i think to get new ecu..but i dont know what happen, if i will get one..
thank you very much...

did you read anything we said at all?

ofc you can do your own air and fuel filter. But you need to check your ECu and see which one it is.

Well since the original owner said that it wasn't the correct ECU, you should check the ECU. If it isn't the P2E then it's the wrong one.
