Default gas problem

i have d16y7 in my 4dr. for some reason it eats alot of gas. its running on a pr4 ecu and my friend told me that that's the reason why it's eating so much gas. i've tried a dx ecu, its starts up fine but a couple a seonds late it dies. what do you think the problem is? help me out!

Were you trying to use a manual ECU on an automatic transmission vehicle?
If not, maybe something was wrong with the ECU.

You should definitely be using the DX/LX/CX ECU, but it has to correspond to your transmission.

I suspect something may be wrong with the D16Y7 ECU you tried using. If the D16Y8 ECU runs the car fine, and the D16Y7 won't, there must be something wrong with the D16Y7 ECU you tried using.

idk
i'm stumped
ECU works in another car, doesn't work in your car, but a different ECU works in your car... all when it's suppose to work with the ECU that doesn't... just doesn't make sense
