Default heat shield rattle

i installed my short shifter today and after putting everything back together i try and move around the shifter.. its hitting the heat shield so i unbolted the screws in the middle of the heat shield the ones right below the shift linkage and stabalizer.. and now it rattles.. is there a way i can have my heat sheild bolted down all the way w/o it getting in the way of my shifter?

Weld it together or drill a new hole where the bolt will be out of the way?

would it be possible to cut part of the heat shield in order to create clearance for your shifter? or take the shield off

its the heat shield on ur exhaust manifold right? its completely fine to take it off.
