Default honda mtf

i was just reading all these topics about how using honda mtf or synchromesh clears up grinding gears. i have 3 quarts of acura mtf in my room and an ls tranny with a bad input shaft bearing. do u guys think if i put in the mtf that it would help clear it up in there or is the damage done already?

depends how bad your tranny is... i would get 3 quarts of Pennzoil Synchromesh from autozone and use it and drive it lightly going through all the gears and see if it helps... are you using an aftermarket shifter?

ok cool just making sure... sometimes the aftermarket shifters will throw off the geometry of the linkage causing the synchros not to work properly and in time damage your tranny

i think ur misunderstanding me... i dont have any grinds, just a bad ISB, which makes the tranny make a whining noise

The damage is done, replace the ISB and all the other bearings. Otherwise, you'll end up with bearing peices from the ISB in your other bearings and have to do it all again.
No fluid can fix a burnt ISB, the bearings are probably not even round anymore.
