Tranny making a whinning noise when decelerating. am i f$&ked?
Just happened tonight. When I decelerate the tranny makes a whining noise in all gears.
Its worst in 1st and 2nd. Also when i am idling there is a noise comming from the tranny
that sound like pebbles in a cup. any ideas?
ps anyone got a low milege d16y8 tranny for sale.
damn and i just ordered some rims on friday.

if it goes away when the clutch is pressed in it is prolly a throw out bearing or input shaft bearing. if it goes away immediatly it is prolly a throw out. if it goes away gradually not too slow its prolly a input shaft bearing. these are common honda problems also iam on the internet so i dont know

BINGO that is exatly it the sound goes away gradually when i press in the clutch.
How easy of a fix is that, not including dropping the tranny
