What causes the IACV to go bad
I was having idle problems. So i changed the IACV and bam was good to go...for about a week and now I'm back to idling high again. So I am assuming something must be causing the IACV to go bad, but i don't know what that would be. maybe the FITV?
That doesn't really help. considering i said i just changed the iacv so it's not dirty anymore. I'm trying to see what else if anything could cause this issue. maybe the used IACV i put on just happened to go bad . Or maybe something is causing them to go bad. i don't know
I believe the IACV is a valve that opens depending on the coolant temp going through it and other signals like the TPS, MAP, and IAT sensors. So the problems can be related to those things as well.
I wish I could find a 5-sided bit to open up the end of an IACV to find out if it the gunge goes deeper than we can clean with carb-spray.

yea i don't have one either unfortunately. it might be my tps then. I had it adjusted previously, but cam to the conclusion shortly after that the timing was off. fixed timing and i guess the tps might be off now. don't know. it's stumping me
Try checking your TPS setting while the car is hot. You can micro-adjust the closed setting down to the 100th of a volt by turning the idle return screw on the throttle body rotor with a 6mm socket.
