How do I paint my 92-95 Si lip? I know the basics of painting but Ive never actually painted anything so I was just wondering what kind of prep work would I have to do and what supplies will I need? This is what my lip looks like. Thanks.

Buy a bondo and fix the scrapes and any chips. Sand it till it's smooth and even.

Then Primer, Paint, Clearcoat

That's up to you. You can get good results from a cheap paint if you prep it nicely.

i tell you what i would do, since it is rather beat, i would sand it down with 180 then 220 and then bed liner that thing. it will give you a textured look and will cover a lot of those gouges.

Buy a paint gun and real automotive paint if you're looking for oem look and then wet sand it. You get what you pay for.

The OEM look for these lips have a textured finish and is supposed to be black. Its not the same is say the 99-00 si lips

Can't you sand it to make it smooth? Or is that too hard?

Hrmm. Now that you think about it I could probably get away with just sanding it lol! Ill try sanding it down smooth first and then Ill prime it and shoot it with spray cans and clear. I cant afford a real gun lol

Months later I finally got this done. I didnt bother sanding since I needed the sandpaper but I cleaned it up, sprayed primer and then sprayed flat black and it looks pretty good. I didnt use clear though. I got all my supplies from autozone, about 4-5 bucks a can.
