The Infamous...NOT getting spark!
well like the title states i am not getting any spark what so ever.
quick rundown. I have a eg with a b20
I have already checked to see if im getting spark by pulling out a spark plug wire and putting a spark plug inside and held it 1/4 away from many different grounds and nothing.
1) I bought another dizzy and still nothing
2) bought new wires
3) new main relay
4) tried two of my friends ecus that are in good working condition
5) checked all fused under dash and under hood and all are good
6) checked all my grounds and they are all good
I also thought maybe both my dizzys were bad so i tried the new one on my friends car and his car stars right up??? Im lost ive tried everything in my knowledge and i cant figure out why i aint getting any spark.
Ive searched for days and couldnt find anything helpful.
Maybe someone can help me out.

First, when looking for spark by pulling a spark plug lead and plugging a spark plug into it, you DO NOT "held it 1/4 away", you ground the plug directly to a ground point and look for a spark at the gap, the "1/4" rule" is when you shove a screw driver into the spark plug lead.
You said you have checked fuses and grounds, have you checked to see if you have power at the "Distributor Assembly", the black/yellow lead should have 12V+ when ign. switch is in run, use a multimeter, [or test light] to confirm you have power on the black/yellow lead. 94

thanks for the insight though
Your absolutely sure the coil and ICM are good?
You said, "I bought another dizzy and still nothing" was it a brand new distributor, was the coil and ICM new? 94

Check the firing order and plug wire placement.
Also the check the distributor key that goes into the camshaft slot. I've actually gotten a few aftermarket distributors where the "key" was turned '180 degrees.
did the new dizzy come with the guts, like coil and icm? also make sure the dizzy if aftermarket cant be 180 out, look for a slot and offsets whatever u wanna call it on the dizzy drive gear.
