Is there a shortcut for wiring up knock sensor????
I swapped an OBD1 GSR into a 93 coupe with the stock EX harness, stock GSR ECU and basically I was wondering if there is a shortcut to get rid of the knock sensor CEL besides wiring it up. I know the sensor is useless, I'm just trying to get the CEL out so I don't fail inspection.
Ya I guess I'm lazy, haha. I figured if there was an easier way I would have found it some where online. And actually since I'm pretty sure I will be taking the wiring up route, do I have to cut a plug off a harness and wire up D3 and ground? I have not done it before.
Alot of people will say you need a sheilded wire for the knock sensor.
I myself have never used one and never had a problem.
Other people say the sensor grounds itself on the block.
The knock sensor is a comman honda connector.
Get a two pin connector and ground the one if you want. I depined the one wire and never had a CEL or any problems.
I believe its the same plug as the VTEC pressure switch.
Or its the solenoid, I forget.
But seriously, You can wire that up in like 10 minutes.

Do you have emissions? If you do I know my friend down in Atlanta where they have emissions failed for not having it wired up.. but like 94EG8 said, you can have the ecu chipped and have the knock sensor disabled from it.
