Pics of Canuck's road trip to Ottawa (from Toronto) to get tuned
I left Toronto at 3:30 am yesterday morning and arrived in Ottawa at 8:30 am after a nice drive in the cool morning weather with no traffic doing an easy 120 km/h all the way.
The name of the shop is Tapp Auto (http://www.tappauto.com), and it a very impressive place. Chris (the owner) has some high end clientelle, and really knows his stuff. He has experience in tuning Motec, Hondata, AEM EMS, DFI, electromotive and a whole lot of other standalone computers.
The shop has a Mustang dyno and he used that along with the FJO wideband to tune my car. The results were impressive. There is more torque down low, and in the midrange than the stock GSR cams could ever match (and they were made for midrange). Horsepower was increased, but the major gains were throughout the rev range. The car feels amazingly strong, even in 32 C degree weather with the airconditioning on.
The horsepower peak numbers will remain a secret until my next track date. (I have a little payback for one of my buddies on NOS).The only hint that I am going to give is this : With the Hondata base maps, my power peaked at 7800, and started dropping off at 8400, no point in revving to 9200, now tuned, peak power is at 9000 and doesn't drop off even at 9200 where I shift
Anyway, enough of my rambling, here are the pics:
One of the many motec equipped porsches that Chris was working on

Another car in the process of being built up

Even the cops get the performance parts here

This is one of Chris' Hondas. This beast has over 500 HP at 25 PSI of boost. At the track, it ran 11.5 at 129 MPH with 20 PSI of boost, spinning the wheels all down the 1320

Another crazy turbo Honda

A vortech supercharger equipped SIR putting down 242 HP to the wheels on stock internals:eek: This baby had some 17" forged Centerline wheels weighing only 12.5 lbs

And now for my stuff:
Chris working on my car

Checking the cam timing, timing belt etc before taking it to 9200 RPM

View of the JUN cam gears prior to setting the cam timing

Cut valve cover for easy inspection and setting of camgears

Nice pics, but could you post somemore of your car, it looks cool. Btw you have that much power now that you think you have a chance against a NOSed car?

Wow, I had no idea Ottawa had such a place.

get rid of the fake "A" though
Beautiful color, those pictures almost look photoshopped.
Is that the Audi S4 blue?
Oh btw ... don't keep secrets from H-T, we are your brothers! (Who else would make fun of you when your cams snapped? Only family!)
