i recently bought a 94 civic ex and want to replace the gauge cluster. the speedometer only reaches 120 mph, i want one that reads 140/160. also how or what would i need to recalibrate the speedometer settings? i also was hoping for a stock/OEM fit but with a custom look.

 

theres nothing plug and play that fits, I forget what the integra clusters go up to, but installation requires cutting and splicing every wire going to the cluster. I'd just leave it the way it is, if you're looking down at the speedometer at 120MPH you're nuts.

 

whats nuts is i can barely tell the car is doing 120 sometimes, but i live out in a town far from any major cities so the roads are long and straight with no intersections or highway patrol

 

Driving that fast on public roadways is what gets people killed. Anyway, there are no 'plug and play' clusters that go above 120 MPH. What you will need to do is swap in an Integra cluster, there are some DIYs on here that can help, but it is quite a lot of splicing.

 

teg cluster swap is not to difficult but it does not fit right, it doesn't look terrible. I have an ITR cluster in my eh3. I saw a write up where dude took the teg cluster's guts and put them in the civic housing, it looked damn good too.
I feel ya on tha open roads, I'm in Ky where no major city even exists.

Can anyone comment about callibrating the cluster, I know mine reads fast, is it possible/necessary?

I have a stock 92-95 cluster that reads to 145. I picked it up on ebay. I was told that it's from a european version. The funny thing is that I would never go that fast in a civic. You can try ebay like I did.

 

its from europe but not in KM/H?

 

also i realize it was stupid to try and hit 120 in the car but i was curious because the car is new and heavily modified but at the same time i made sure there was no one around so that if anything happened i would just hurt myself and no one else. so far I've only done it once.

Not all European countries use kilometers on clusters.

 

How about not going 120 and think about the fact that if one small thing happens then its going to some huge damage. Just hitting a pothole could kill you. Going 120 is no where near worth loosing your life. But if your looking for a custom look go for an s2k cluster.

 

i think putting i an s2000 cluster is a little more work than i want to put myself through. it sounds very cool, but when it comes to wiring i'm not so good. i'm better with straight mechanical repairs or customizations.

 

In that case you're probably best to stick with the stock speedo then. Aside from the one fella mentioning seeing a European gauge go to 140 (which I've never seen myself) you're not going to find any plug and play options. Sorry

i Did 165 in my with 93 SI with a GSR swap in it. I dont think it would be too hard to hit 120. My first CRX with a b16 could only go 125 cause of the short tranny.

 

well the car has a jdm d16 skunk2 intake dc sports headers/exhaust high flow fuel rail, upgraded injectors( i don"t know which make and model yet) ur pulleys street cam high flow fuel pump, race flywheel and clutch. I don't know what all brands are in there yet as i bought the car from a friend of a friend this way.
