where is the vacuum source for it?

does it have an adjustable spring that could be set improperly?

first of all its called a blow off valve. a blow off valve works off of vaccum. at idle when your engine pulls 20lbs of vaccum which causes the spring inside the bov to compress which in turn it would be open. under boost when the intake manifold has the pressure of whatever boost your running inside it, the bov is closed. when you let off the gas while shifting to the next gear or what not the boost pressure drops and the vaccum pressure goes back to the 20lbs it was at, which relases the extra boost pressure from the turbo.

Hey, did you buy that car used from someone in CT? That looks EXACTLY like my 97 Integra LS I had a while back. I wish I had pictures of the bay, but it looks EXACTLY like mine did (minus a few changes). I had the valve cover painted a pretty crappy way with that same color, I have the same little rubber cap over the battery and a few other things. Same turbo and manifold too. I noticed a different radiator and intake manifold.
