It is an EK...but also if the car is an EX, it is also an EJ8.

 

It's an EJ8. That's all.

 

EKs are only in Japan.

Call it a Civic.

 

The chassis codes are based on the VIN. Look at your VIN. Does it say EK? Nope, it doesn't. 96-00 civics are NOT AN EK. EK does not exist in north america, only in Japan. You have an EJ8. That is all.

Ok so no more EF and EG talk on this site either!! Since were being technical here and EF's are really ED;s and EG's are EH's. Calling cars by chassis codes is one of my biggest car pet peeves. Just call it a ****ing 98 civic an be done with it lol. Calling a car by its chassis code is ricerish to me
