Icon2 my turbo build

ok i want to start off by saying i've learned ALOT from this forum and other forums i frequent. with that being said i've also heard alot of controversy over this vs. that. i want to come here and clarify all this crap.

well my project consists of a dd 1995 civic ex coupe. i bought a complete motor (OEM D16Z6) for fairly cheap. now i want to turbo it, but don't want to go crazy! lol i want a managable dd 5-8 lbs of boost on it.(here's where the controversy starts) alot of people have told me that if i go with a stock rebuild that i would be fine, other people say that i should get lower compression pistons. well i researched it and turbo pistons for my motor will put me at around 8 psi right? aren't stock pistons rated at 9 psi? would it really make that big of a difference? what are the advantages to having 8 over 9?

as to the turbo set up i wanted to use a T28 or a T30. in the future i want to be able to boost a little bit more maybe even up to 300 hp maybe even less. thanks for your help and time!

PSI is an irrelevant measure. Dont use it to determine your goals. If you run the stock D series bottom end, you're safe in the 220-240whp range. If you rebuild with a set of Vitaras and Eagle/Tuner Toys rods, you'll be safe up to around 400whp. PSI varies with your turbo choice and the efficiency of the setup. It seems you have quite a bit more research to do before jumping into a build...
