Default HELP!! what is going on with my boost gauge !

ok I'm driving home from work today and when I get a block away from my house my boost gauge will not read more then 12 psi vacuum, meaning when I'm NOT in boost like I'm coasting without my foot on the gas. It used to read 20-22psi vacuum. mind you my job is only a mile away from my house and I was driving slower then my grandmother. the car idles fine, no smoke out of the exhaust or the breather, no oil in the antifreeze. what else should I check. b16 running 6psi stock block. autometer boost gauge.

check all vacuum lines for leaks, and make sure they are properly connected....
when not in gear and you give it a little gas, it reads 0 right?

Edit: wait a minute... 22? that seems a bit much for me, 16 sounds about right... unless of course i need to check my lines

Is 12psi vacuum what the gauge would read in a black hole? You have psi or in of Hg, not both.

If you mean 12 in Hg vs 20-22 in Hg, sounds like a vacuum line loose or burnt somewhere.

If your motor's acting the same way it was before, it's most likely the vaccum line itself. It may be pinched.

20-22 psi of vaccum is normal for a Honda. If you're at 12psi now with no vacuums messed up etc... then thats not a good sign.

Do a compression test asap and don't hammer the gas.

sorry guys, it's around 12 InHg. the car runs fine. I checked ALL the lines looks good. after I got home I let the turbo timer idle the car for 3 minutes then I jumped in the shower and ate after that. went outside prayed and started her up. well what do you know, back to normal! I went up my street and half way up the street I pushed the clutch in and she stabbed me in the back again. BAM 12 InHg.so I was pissed so I boost up in 3rd, push the clutch in and back down to 22InHg. so for the rest of the night it was all good. it's like the needle gets caught up or something. I dunno it happenned to me once before but it went away. it seems good now. if my vacuum was only at 12InHG wouldn't I see smoke at least out of the breather??? if I had no boost gauge I wouldn't be able to tell. the car runs strong. the thing is I noticed it when I was creepin around town. I was barely goin over 3000-3200 rpm's when it happenned. I dunno I'll keep everybody posted if my boost gauge gets unhappy.

I don't have much to contribute except that my gauge almost always reads 20-22 in. vacuum, but every once in a while it won't go below 18-20 idling. if I blip the throttle it'll go back down...could just be a flakey gauge? does it read properly when boosting?

i dunno some people have Issues with the Autometer gauges, a.k.a. they say they stink. Personally, if this is the case save up and get a Greddy Boost gauge, its $ but then piece of mind has no price.
