Default SOHC SWAP INFO!!

So I'm looking to do something crazy and different. It involves swapping an 2001-2005 sohc engine into an eg hatchback. Sooo my question is what mounts do i use? Would I use k-series hasport mounts or what? any info would be great

definately not worth the effort. theres a reason you've never heard of or seen anyone attempt this swap. its far cheaper to stay with d-series in the 92-00 range. using the newer engine would require a crap ton of extra parts and fab to make it work, and it wouldn't be worth it for the power they make.

To do this swap, all the same type of work needed for a K20 swap is needed. So if you are going to do all the work for a K20, why put a D17 instead?

meh, that's not even close to worth the effort, cool yes and i would deffinetely respect it if it were done.

why not do the k-swap and have it tuned on e85? just my .02 i think it'd be alot more enjoyable but still unique on e85

Well my whole deal is that I want to have the looks of an eg hatchback, but amazing fuel economy. I'm a honda pact student and i'm thinking the only real challenge is going to be the wiring. I'd have to take the chassis harness of the hybrid along with the engine harness and swap that all into an eg shell. The fuel set up is probably different, so I'd have to work all these things out. But a five speed hybrid in a hatchback would be decently fun to drive. The motor, battery, tranny, and wiring run about 3k for the whole swap

Its called a VX hatchback. Seriously its not worth swapping a hybrid drivetrain into a 5th gen chassis.

much cheaper and easier to stay with what works. if you did this d17 swap you would eventually get to a point and think " why the F am i doing this"
