Default Problem Dealing with RS Machines !!! BEWARE !!

Back in 16th October 2008 I bought an 82mm B18c block from RS Machines. I paid $1287.50 including Paypal Fees and Fedex Express shipping to Europe because it was urgent.

It arrived here in 8 days , but when I took it to a local machine shop to have it checked we found out that it was severely damaged on the lower part where the main cap is mounted and crank stays. While examining it well we found out that it has a spun bearing. This block needed a line bore to be fixed which is very expensive to be done here. I have many pictures of it showing its damage which i will post later.

When I contacted RS he was surprised and told me that he took that out of a running car, but than I made him contact the machine shop which examined the block and explained the block damage with him. My first question would be, does a company like this ship out a block without examining it ?

After lots of calls and emails etc, RS told me that he will send another block with Fedex at their own costs because this was not worthed for them to pay to fix it or for me to send back for replacement.

From the day we reached this agreement till today, I havent received anything yet! More than a month has passed and my customer is still waiting for his dearly paid block. I contact RS on AIM or by phone and they promise they are going to send it each and every week but I didnt get anything till now. Last time I was promised this was even yesterday when they told me that they are going to ship it today, which in my opinion is a complete lie since its a public holiday in USA.

I really feel that they stole away my money. I have all their emails, AIM conversations, pictures of the damaged block etc. saved in my PC.

I would also like to know if someone else has been bitten by this company.

I will delete this thread once this thing is solved. Thanks for looking.

Yes I know, I have been importing parts regularly for more than 3 years and never had any problems with them. But this time I think there is a problem !

Below are the pictures of the damaged B18c block I received from RS Machines.

Note in the images that when the main cap is torqued to the block there as a big gap.

I am not that technical in engineering but the machine shop told me that the block has severe damage and the crank doesnt even turn when mounted.

i assume the #'s on top of the caps are in the correct locations,so maybe there caps from another engine. i know they can get out of round or tapered but thats odd
