Default autometer air/fuel gauge question?

im looking at air/fuel gauge to buy for my soon to be boosted ek.

can you use a autometer air/fuel gauge with the stock o2 sensor or would i need to buy the aftermarket autometer o2 kit for it to work ?

or for the extra $100 would i be better off going with the AEM WIDEBAND ?? ?

the only time a cheap a/f gauge will give you an accurate reading is at w.o.t., anything else the needle constantly bounces between lean and rich, your best bet would be a wideband, and give you the most accurate reading. especially on a boosted vehicle

and ps, you can use the gauge with the orginal o2, but a wideband comes with a new sensor, all you have todo is drill a whole in your exhaust and weld the bung in, any muffler shop should be able todo that for like 20 bucks cash

dont even bother with An autometer A/F gauge it reads narrow band and does not give a very good reading, especialy on a boosted car. just spend some extra cash and get a wide band AEM is just fine. trust me your be glad you did, plus all the flickering the autometer gauge does gets annoying while driving down the street. haha. good luck bro,

yea definitly steer clear of the autometer guage, my eg hatch came with one in it from the previous owner and i hated it by the time i got home, just wanted to yank it out and have an empty pod hole instead. seriously its just a bright needle bouncing around all the time unless you really are at wot. even at like %85 throttle it still bounces... get a digital wideband.
