Air/Fuel Gauge responding slowly
I read an article today about a gauge install and it was talking about how the gauge was responding slowly. They knew to replace the O2 sensor and it was moving normally. How are you to know if the gauge is responding too slowly? I remember a prelude that had an air fuel gauge in and it seemed to respond quickly, while i was in a hatch yesterday and it was moving very fast back and forth. What could be wrong? Or is it normal for it to respond slowly in a single cam civic? I really feel like a retard asking this kind of question...

you're talking about narrowband o2 sensors...
when very lean, they show lean...
when very rich, they show rich...
when somewhere in between, the oscillate back and forth...
if it behaves otherwise, the sensor may be bad or there may be a bad connection between the gauge and sensor

I know wideband O2's are much better and actually work as opposed to normal ones. It does move back and forth between rich and lean just not very much; and if it does, it does so fairly slowly.

double check your connections behind the gauge... you might not have a good ground, or you might have a bad connection to the o2 sensor
