Default Random wiring question.... fuel pump related

alright buys, heres the question... I picked up a mess of an EG hatch recently and just replaced the entire main harness, everything seems be be working pretty much fine aside from a few lil hiccups here and there to be sored out... but I was wondering if the fuel pump is supposed to prime with no engine harness nor ECU hooked up... let me know the scenario I'm looking to get from this, and if i were to plug in a stock ECU, but still no engine harness, will the pump prime?

THanks

the fuel pump gets its power from the main relay. so it should prime and run normally, w/o the engine harness. my laptop is on the fritz, or id pull out the helms.

ECU controls fuel pump VIA the main relay.

Power goes from fuse box, to main relay, the ECU signals the fuel pump to turn on.
