id go for a b18c motor personally.
torque owns.

stick around HT and use the search button ALOT. you can find 99% of your questions in there.

edit: didnt this say b16a origionally?

13's are obtainable...if you do a look under the Drag Racing forum, people are hitting 14.5s and 14.4s on stock LS with b16a or GSR transmissions. Don't keep the LS tranny if you plan on going N/A...

If you plan on doing this swap I assume you want more performance than stock?right? Few years back when I bought my B18B motor I thought the same thing........affordable, more performance, etc, etc. After ALLOT of $$, the best I could squeeze out of my B18B was 177 and old one 189 all motor non vtec. Save some more and either get a GSR or H22 swap? Although these will cost more than an LS swap, their potentials are more easily reached with less $$$. Don't get me wrong getting the B18B into low 13's is very possible It wouldn't be very street legal

save your money...i use to have a b18b in a 93dx hatch.. i was ok, i have like intake, header, exhaust i went 14.9.. i had the crappy ls transmission too, so if you were to do this swap get a b16a trans.

As far as I know, their times were not with I/H/E....not sure though! I'm looking for high 13s with a B20Z non-vtec and either a GSR or B16 tranny in my EK...

Good luck!

get a B20Z if you can, the B18B won't give you as much low end torque.

I/H/E, get a gsr or b16a tranny, built the head and if you can, get some high compression pistons. You'll have NO probleme hitting 13's with that set-up...even if you don't raise the comp. Good luck.

I was just at the track this past friday and let me tell you this one guy had an all motor LS w/ b16 vtec head on it and the car wasn't really gutted out. It was 100F at the track....freakin hotter then sheep ballz . He ran a 12.2, and he told me that was bad...from what i saw...he had a LS/VTEC w/ ITR Manifold, ITR Throttle body, ITR AEM CAI, Apex header, 2.5 inch exhaust to A'PEXi N1 Muffler, and Cam Gears. Oh and he was running on some cheap Khumo (however u spell them) 712's w/ 15 inch rotas. Hope this helps you.
