Default Distributor for LSVT with LS wiring harness ?

1997 LS wiring harness...

I am running an LSVT setup: B16a head with B18a block. I am having distributor problems, but the question I have is this.... When I needed a destributor, the LS one did not fit the B16 head, and the B16's distributor's harness plug does not fit the LS's wiring harness for the distributor. I simply swapped the LS internals into the B16 housing and this worked fine, but I had a jumpy tach on occasion.

Is the LS distributor internals the SAME as that of a GSR or SI distributor's internals ? They all bolt up like budda... but are the same things, or are my LS internals being stressed.... or even losing Hp ?

the ls dist will fit the b16 head, you just need to cut off the leg closest to the vtec solenoid. i have one on b16 head right now and 91civicsi has one on his gsr.
not sure about the internal question though...sorry.

I fixed my little distributor problem yesterday and got my car started... during my little adventure, I tested my ICM and determined it to be at fault, so I swapped it for an older B16 distributor's ICM, which had a different model number on it.

I guess we can now make the assumption that the LS ICM is different from the B16 ICM... although they look almost identical... the B16's, however, is a hair thicker than the LS's, but doesn't cause any fitment issues.
