Default Outer Tie Rod Removal Help!111!!

Well the ball joint in my outer drivers tie rod just spins when I try to tighten the nut, so I have a new one on order now, but I cant for the life of me get the nut loose on the steering shaft to even try to get the rod off. It has been soaking in PB Blaster for 2 days now, I tried heating it with a propane torch I have and still nothing. I am no small man (215lb) and I have pulled muscles I didnt even know I had trying to get this bitch off..... any suggestions? TIA

You do know that the entire outer tie rod attaches to the arm right. As if the whole rod is a nut. You use one wrench to hold the steering rod nut, then another on the outer rod. Then spin the outer tie rod off.

Also, just because the ball joint spins, doesn't nes. mean that it is bad. Get a breaker bar, lay it on top of the bushing joint, wedge it under the chassis and push down, then tighten. It needs some pressure on it.

yea I know the rod attaches to the arm, I was using 2 seperate wrench's trying to turn the nut one way and the rod the other way and its a no go.

The boot has been shredded for over 2 years and the threads are all messed up too, I like to replace parts when they are iffy not just band aid them

I've had to use a clasp type wrench on the 22mm nut once because the open end wrench I was using spreads the end apart as you turn. Put some heat into it and pull the wrenches towards each other.

I'll see if I can find out who makes the wrench I used. I've always wanted to know, but never had a chance to ask my co-worker.

Got it off, soaked it for about 2 days with PB and then used a hand held propane torch, let it sit on the seam where the arm attached to the nut for about 5 min, popped the arm back into the spindle and just turned the nut while hitting the wrench with a hammer and the nut broke loose.
