Default is a integra b16a head better then a 2000 civic sir b16 head

okey guys its what the title lables lol i got a b16 a head it needs cams and cam holders and cover so im trying to deside if i should get rid of the head and get a 2000 sir head want to know it its worth rebuilding

you do realize that the "cam holders" are a part of the head? as in if you buy a new set you need to send it off to the machine shop and have them align honed/bored....personally i would never buy a head like that, sure id take one if it was given to me, but not pay money for it.

i under stand what needs to be done to get it working im just saying power wise and rpm wise built will the 16a head be stronger then the 16a2

They are the same head casting. No difference in power.

What is it missing out of this pic?

^^^ yes, the heads are "exactly the same. Actually, little known fact that the 1st gen B16A pr3 heads were the best quality of the series as they were made with a more dense and stronger composition of aluminum alloy than later gen to cut costs.

Deetz, you'll probably know since you're a pro, but when did they change style on the over-bearing bridge in the PR3 head.

I've noticed during dissasembly. Can you clarify?

The two top 'braces' are slightly different, and the first gen lost motion assemblies are more prone to binding with high lift cams.

im missing the upper cam shaft suports and oil cavern bracket and bolts

from what iv seen the top oil line section is rounder then the 2000 sir oil line section on top of the cam shafts

not here is another one the 99 sir cams shafts better or the 91 jdm civic sir cam shafts better
