Default 1990 accord NOT STARTING :(

1990 ACCORD EXR AUTO...CANADA

purchased the car last winter...i realized that it used to crank, but didnt' always fire up...either have to hold the key, or give abit of gas...

then the warmer weather came...and the car no issues at all, car fires up perfectly fine!

just a few days ago, started getting cold ...same issues, car cranks, but does not fire up...but this time holding the key or giving gas does not fire it up...

now it has stopped cranking....i tried boosting the car, thinking it is the battery, but no luck, so i had the battery tested...and the battery turns out to be perfectly fine...

I've run many searches, the only thing i'm coming across is the main relay...but the problem associated with it going bad is overheating...i obvoiusly do not have that problem...but i will look into it anyways...

what else could it be...the battery is fine according to the tests, but the car makes no noise except for a clicking noise when turning the key at this point....

If you hear the starter click, it means either poor electrical connections, or the starter contacts are worn out.
The starter contacts are inexpensive and easy to replace.
If you can have someone hold the key in the crank position while you tap on the starter solenoid, and the starter cranks, that will prove the starter contacts as the suspected problem.
Then when you get it to cranking again you can move on to the other problem, testing for spark and fuel pressure, and maybe consider a new set of spark plugs.
Mr Hondadude has, in the past, posted a picture of the starter contacts.

If you can gain access to the trigger (signal) wire; probe it with a test light.
If the light illuminates (when you try to crank it over), but it doesn't energize the starter it's either:
1) Bad Battery (positive) Cable / Connection to the starter
2) Bad Starter solenoid
3) Bad Starter
If it doesn't illuminate, most likely it's either:
1) Starter Override Switch (Clutch Equipped)
2) Neutral Start Switch (Auto Equipped)
3) Ignition Switch (common on older Honda's)

True, once we get it cranking, then we'll address the poor / no start condition

been awhile since i updated

I had the battery tested, it was fine, i even replaced it with another battery, still dindt start, which further proved the battery was fine.

I swapped the whole starter and voila! she fired right up!
