Default Accord 08' Starting trouble - Is it the battery?

I have an 08 accord and I have noticed that sometimes on a mildly cold day (55 Degrees Farenheight); my car struggles to start ( I can hear it struggle).

- I am thinking this could be due to my battery deteriorating

- Me not turning the key properly / fully, I think I may not turn the key properly in a hurry (I dont know if this is a reasonable reason) I am just thinking aloud.

It happens once in a while and then everything is normal. Any thoughts and recommendations?

On my 09' Accord, sometimes if I don't turn the ignition key fully and hold it for a split second, it doesn't start when it is cold. But, it usually starts on the very next try. I don't know whether that is the same as what you are experiencing though.

Thanks redbull-1 for your insight.
Do you guys think that it could be a weak battery? The car is only 1 year old! How many years does a typical battery perform optimally?

Batteries can fail in less than 1 year. Yours may still be under factory warranty.

About 3 years. The OEM battery on my 06 Accord lasted 2.5 years from when I took delivery. Call it cost cutting.

Have you tried making a conscious effort to fully turn the key when you start the car? Try that first as that is the easiest and most obvious fix. Next thing to do is to get your battery load tested, not just a simple voltmeter check. Lastly, what weight oil are you using? If too thick, it will force your starter to work harder at startup. Hope that helps.
