I was asked to be a member of an shifter cart team... they need 3 people and have a cart allready (125cc). what do you guys think?
They said All i have to do i drive and the mechanic stuff will be up to the pit crew not drivers. The race is 3 hours long (endurance race)... can anyone fill me in on these things.
I know its fun and all but is it worth spending my time?

I raced in a 4 hour enduro, it was dope. Ribs were bruised the next day

Fun as hell. I`d rather be in a shifter anyday. Cars are fun, but a shifter is the closest we`ll get to the f1/cart/irl experience

He's right! Shifter karts give you approximately the same viewpoint and speed of events as what you see in F1 in-car cameras. Super fun, but I would practice quite a bit before jumping into an enduro. Otherwise, you'll be a handicap and an embarassment to the team.

 

125 shifter? try a 250cc lay down enduro kart!! i raced karts for 4 years, and i am a 2 time national (wka) champion! i miss those little things!! eric

 

Ditto on the hurting. You'll find yourself hurting all over after a long stint in a cart. Example: I was (unknowingly) using my legs to hold myself in against some of the mounting structure. I was walking like John Wayne the next day.

 

Whoops, I realized I may have been misunderstood.

I know about the capabilities of shifter karts.

But hopefully we can get even closer to F1/Cart/IRL.

yeah there's a difference between driving it for a few minutes in front of yo homeys garage....and driving it at an enduro run...........WITH other cars....
