Crower 403 Idle Problems
2000 Integra db7 GS
Car has Crower 403's which weren't installed by me. Car has idle problems almost consistently at various times during idle. I'm not a car guru, so you'll forgive the ignorant questions.
First thing i notice when i open the hood is that there appears to be a vacuum line that is disconnected to IACV. My next most logical step is to clean that, but logically speaking, shouldn't the vacuum line be hooked up?
Next, since i have the cams, should there be a natural cam lope? The setup isn't tuned, so i assume that some lope is understandable. but the engine seems to be physically shaking. When the car is warm and i come to a stop, it seems to surge to the point of almost dying.
Any input is well appreciated. This is the family horse, so I'd like to keep her alive.
Thanks!

the engine will idle like crap with the 403's. its the nature of the cam profile. you should have it tuned. and if you have it tuned properly with hondata/ectune/neptune you can bump the idle up to around 1000rpm to make it idle not so "lumpy"
thanks for the info, but you actually quoted me as saying that i didn't install them. Im not really in the know about the vacuum stuff, thats why i was asking about it. The whole vacuum thing is confusing as crap. I really could use a picture of a properly connected vacuum line.

find where the vacuum line belongs and connect it. if you take a picture and post it up we can help you find where it belongs. or take it back to the place who installed the cams and ask them to hook it back up.
i have the same cams, well for the most part i have the brian crowers stg 2 n/a, same profile. my setup is tuned and i still have a crappy idle but it is better that is was before it was tuned. i haven't raised the idle, though i probably should next time it gets tuned.

Seems like everyone is used to the cam lope, but the idle surging is whats bothering me, but just to make sure, does that sound like vacuum issues to you guys as well?
Thanks for the help so far!
well i dont know whats different on yours... but i have the 403s and mine idled fine after some adjustments... on mine i adjusted the the tb blade..s2k tb. i had no idle screw... so try adjusting the idle screw... thats after you get your vacumm lines straightened out... cuz it could just be the vacum leak... just look at the diagram on the hood and follow all the lines and make sure they match the diagram....
