Default How did you wire your full throttle shift? (hondata)

I hear hondata suggesting to use the "cruise control" clutch switch on the clutch pedal, but my car doesn't have that (unless I'm looking in the wrong spot). Should I use the clutch switch that gets depressed when the pedal is pushed to the floor (one for starting car)???.

What other options are there? Can I get a new switch (off a junkyard car?) and put it where the clutch pedal stop (the adjustment bolt when clutch is out) is on my car currently?

Justin

edit: this probably should have been created in engine management & tuning, sorry.

I used a cruise control switch off a DA integra, put it where the clutch pedal stop bolt thing is. Ground the ground, attatched the signal to the A/C input from the ECU

Thanks, that is exactly what I was looking for. I'll try to find a cruise control switch. Going to wire mine to input for power steering and use a/c button/input for high/low boost.

Well, I got a cruise control switch but no plug for it. Anyone know which prong on the switch plug is the ground??

I think the switches are polarity-neutral, per se, if you wire them up custom. One went to ground (or positive), one went to the ecu. IDK if the clutch switch is N.O. or N.C., but I do know most brake switches are both N.O. and N.C., and use the normal 4-pin relay plug. In my auto-to-manual swaped EF I forgot to take the clutch switch plug, so I used the old brake switch to disable my cruise. I like disengaging it smoothly...

FYI cars that didn't come with cruise (DX, CX, etc) didn't seem to have the same pedal assembly - no spot to mount the top clutch switch. Its not hard to rig it up if you can weld.

Hmm ok. Maybe I'll wire it up and test it, see if it works.

My car (DX) does have the spot on the pedal assembly for the cruise switch, it is just occupied by the clutch slack adjustment bolt right now.

Exactly what it says. Keep full throttle and shift Basically it will lower the rpms a tad when you push in the clutch to shift, like a temporary rev limiter.

No, gas pedal stays to the floor throughout the shift. Just hold gas down and shift through the gears, hondata takes care of lowering the rpms a tad when you push in the clutch.

I always wanted to try to use my FTS but for some reason it seems like it wouldnt be very easy of drivetrain parts......

anybody reading this that has actually used it? is it really worth it? seems to me to just be a crutch for a slow shifting driver.

I used to have FTS on my old Evo 8, it friggin rules. Most the time racers will just floor it and shift while bouncing off the normal rev limiter no? Or use some other sort of mechanism that lowers rpm between shifts.

I'll update when I get it hooked up later.
