I had a good conversation with a friend who owns a reputable alingment shop here in Southern Cali... He does alingment on alot of race cars and is building one wicked time attack car. And when our conversation went on about his spring rates selection... He talked about making the shocks do more work over stiffer springs.
Basically, I'm in the market for a good set of dd/weekend track coilover. I cant afford my buddys setup. He is running triple adjustable JRZ/Moton coilovers ( I think there in the nieghbor hood of $9000). I was planning on running 10kg fronts and 8kg rears or 12kg 10kg. But I'll run both setups with SWIFT springs because I found from personal experience that SWIFT springs seem to ride alot softer and react soo much better than alot of the springs that comes stock on all coilovers.
The reason why I need a soft ride is; I daily my car and do a round trip 120miles a day. And the 91fwy sucks already with my 7kg/4kg Tein superstreets.
So give me your 2 cents and let me know what you guys suggest on which coilovers ( please no megan, d2's , ksport, or coilover sleeves)

Even with adjustable shocks, or shocks valved for specific spring rates, your still gonna regret rates that high on a dd.
IMO 500lb springs is already really pushing it for a smooth ride (for a dd). Eventually people get rates so high on their dd, it's like "What suspension...?" lol. There's no bounce at all anywhere, it's like they're driving a big stiff-as-**** toy.

Rates like that are perfectly dailyable in my opinion. I have daily driven my DC5 more than 15,000 miles this year on 14kg/mm front and 24kg/mm rear springs. On swifts too
.
What dampers are you looking at to match these springs? Something mad tyte jdm?

I was looking at Skunk 2 Pro C's or PIC Selects... But I need to play with spring rates first at the track and see what rates the car needs to fit my driving style... So basically, I'll have 2 sets one for the streets and another set for the track ...

If you want a "soft" ride, chances are those rates you're looking at are too high, especially if you feel that your current setup is already too stiff.

Plus its superstreets and I think because of how low the car is sitting the dampeners have lost some stroke. Super Streets are spring adjustable not ride hieght adjustable... So when I lowered the car some, the dampeners lost some stroke.
Thats why I think it would ride better if I went to a fully adjustable coilover; that has ride hieght adjustability...
