It would be helpful to know something about the transmission/car in question.
What Year?
What Trim-line (EX, LX, DX, SE, etc.)?
Automatic or Manual?
Also, is this from the passenger's or driver's side of the car?

Thanks!

One thread on your engine swap problems should be good enough. You don't have to start a three threads pertianing to the same problems...... Have some patience and people will be more than willing to help you out. If your thread goes unanswered for a few days then you can bump it. Don't start a new one.

Cheers

Yet I still don't see anything that would allow me to help you. Pics of both transmissions end cases as well as a brief description of what you are trying to do and I should be able to assist.

i cannot take a good picture of the new transmission endcase due to it being in the car. im replacing the engine and transmission in my 96 accord(f22b2) with a jdm engine and transmission(f22b). i am reusing the original ecu and wiring harness. the old transmission did not have this automatic transmission gear position switch on it. therefore there is no plug for it on the original wiring harness.

i have heard that the automatic transmission gear position switch on my car is located at the shifter under the console so that this switch could just be left attached to the transmission and not connected to anything and it should work fine. any thoughts?

All true. You can take it off, or leave it on to protect the shaft seal.

if i take it off what is underneath? just a small hole or something and if so, can it be plugged? because i think the suspension arms (not sure what they are called?) that mount on the lca to the front cross member will hit on the casing once the wheel is put on and the car is lowered down on the lift
