Default Auto to manual swap.. unsual question

so my car is in right now getting a jdm d15b as well as an auto to manual swap. My question is i have a remote starter and i was wondering if any mondifications will have to be made to it inorder for it to work. I dont want the car driving off when i try to start it .. so i know i will have to leave it out of gear and emergancy brake on.. but is that it or will there be extra wiring?

because most likely the clutch start switch isnt wired, you should only have to dearly remember to leave the car out of gear.

The way i see it going is that the auto start is connected to your ignition wires and not the wires you use to start your car. So youll be fine in that area.

What alot of people do with there autostarts is just leave the car in neutral and always park with the parking brake on. Just get used to that pattern and youll be fine.

but forget one time....
electrically if the car starts via the key you will be fine. If the swap is done to OEM specs then you may need to jumper (or run a relay across) the clutch switch. Most of the time auto-manual swaps are not done that way though.

Awsome thanks everyone for your quick replies, I will have to dearly remeber the whole out of gear thing and brake on. Hopefully get the car back in a couple days from jdm source so we'll have to see what happens

That's funny this question came up since I just received my parts for the swap last night. I have a remote starter as well. I guess I'll just disable the clutch saftey I guess.. I sure as hell wouldn't leave it in gear knowing this.. Keep doing it and it becomes a habit to leave the car in neutral and ebrake on. I wouldn't wanna wake up find my car THROUGH my garage door because I was trying to warm up my car from inside my bedroom. I'll start a thread with pics of before and after swap.. and steps and all..

I've always wondered... if you tried to remote start a car in gear with the clutch out (and the safety disabled), wouldn't it just stall right away? I mean, it may jump a little bit, but then it would stall and the transmission would stop it from rolling.

Maybe I'm not thinking of something, but I can't imagine that it would go more than a few inches.

...unless you parked it facing downhill, I guess.

Nope, if you remote start it in first without a parking brake it will actually start hauling *** in first at like 10 mph lol.

it will do the same if the parking brake is on.
It will just drag the rear tires accross the parkinglot till it finds something that will stop it.
Yes I know this for sure, and yes I laughed my *** off when it happened. (the car found a wall, very little damage, luckily)

haha, I guess now I know.

I didn't think that a starter would have enough torque to get it rolling without stalling. Learn something new everyday.
