I just went out to start the car and nothing.. want turn over nothing battery is fine fuel pump primes ... Im guessing there is a switch that signals the starter to fire and it has gone out... this has happened to me before and i left the car for a while and came back out and it started right up ... so which switch do i need to look for ?
starter solenoid sticking? smack the starter with a hammer lightly while someone is trying to crank it. Smack it at the solenoid of course!! (GENTLY), than go a bit harder if you find you are having success (you can hear/feel the starter rotating)
The starter is a little gear motor is it not? High torque, low speed gear motor opperating of an electric solenoid.
Or check to see if you have voltage at the starter while your cranking. Need voltmeter. Sort of have to isolate the problem. If its the switching not working or the actual starter it self. ie. input or the output
