Default B18b VS B18c1 ( on an SI )

I have a 99 SI right now (b16a2) and i wanted to do an Ls/vtec swap with CTR pistons and start building the block up, BUT the reliability factor is an issue for me, I determined this would be too much compression for the B18b, and the redline will eventually be at least 9k, so the B18b has been ruled out, do you think it worth it to swap to a B18c1 block?
I know the LS blocks are cheap, 200-300, how much should a GSR block run ?
Tanx.

Why not just keep your block and stroke it? TODA makes a kit that I've heard nothing except good things about.

Thanks, J

Why not send your shortblock to Golden Eagle and for $750 have an 85mm bore, then new pistons for another $400 so for $1150 your car will rip, and have a sick rsr
