Default B16 B-tech engine questions

Hey guys,

Well, I just sold my Cavalier and I am looking to purchase a 91 Integra I found on a website and it has quite a few mods. I wanted to ask a couple questions so you guys who know what I'm talking about could help me so I could come closer to buying this car. Here is a list of mods to the car:

B16 B-tech engine with only 40k miles
AEM air intake
AEM fuel rail
AEM adustable fuel regulator.
DC Sport Headers (4-2-1 I think)
RSP Catback Exhaust
GSR Tranny
BUM Fuel Gauge
High Performance Sparkplug wire
K&N Intake Filter

All the engine mods for the car. I have the money to purchase the car, and the man claims that it is in very good condition and he has run 12's in this car in the 1/4 mile. If anyone could explain to me that list of stuff I'd GREATLY appreciate it.

Thanks, Zach

I doubt it would run 12. I'd say low 14's to 15 in a integra. The B16B is the Civic type R motor. very expensive and hard to get. Look on the block so see if it really is. I think in stock form it makes 180hp(not sure). all those mods i wouldn't spend more than $3000. seriously.... you can just make your own and build it up slowly while your learning more about cars. If you didn;t know what those mods were you defintly need to start out with something simple and easy. Also think about what your gonna do when you have engine problems???? who you gonna call? You can have a performance shop fix it but they seeing that your a newbie... mostliky will try to rip you off. If you can get it for less than $3000, go for it. If not take your money and get a stock civic, integra, accord and start off fresh, you'll feel much better about it when you finally reach your goals.

i think you mean b16a vtec engine. i dont know why they put a b16 in an integra. that is backwards. they actually put a smaller displacement motor in the teg. do not buy this car under any circumstances. that car is LUCKY to run high 15's if it runs at all.

just start out with a stock honda and build it up yourself. do not buy a car that has been modified because most likely it was beaten on and you do not have the know how at this point to fix it. start reading about honda engine swaps and get yourself a civic.

and do not..DO NOT..put anything apc on it.
if apc belongs anywhere it belongs on a cavalier. i think the only thing of value it represents is it being a source of amusement for those who like to laugh at stunnas.

actually the earlier integras came with a version of the first gen b16 (in japan)
it probably does run a high 15
nowhere near a 12.
and apc sucks.

The B16A (1st gen) has about the same amount of HP as the B17A in DA integra's. A lot of DA guys I know do this swap.

A friend of mine did a B16a swap in his Teg. The teg that the cavalier guy pry has a JDM swap in it, hence 40,000 miles. Its worth it, cuz while you are running the swap, you can build the bottom end of the stock motor for a nice LSVtec. Just my two cents....

They had SOHC 3rd gen Integras in Japan as well. Not sure what they ran though, fairly slow I'm sure.
