Default Y7 compression test results

#1 - 125
#2 - 120
#3 - 130
#4 - 100

Ran the test because of white smoke.. possible that #4 has bad rings?

most likely your head gasket is going, those are usually the symptons,

-white smoke
-loss of compression
-coolant loss
-coolant in oil/oil in coolant

if i were you i get to this and make sure its a head gasket before it hurts your motor in the long run.

also a headgasket is not very difficult to do, i'd did one myself and before i've never worked on a honda before *my first ej1* but even though you could do it yourself also, just go to the local parts store and pick up a cheap haynes manual and use that to help you.

also just checking your sig, do you have a Y7 motor in your ex coupe?

#4 is about 28-30% less than your best cylinder...so your rings are probobly worn out...but thats not terrible...id think its time for a rebuild though your readings across the board are a little low....plus your white smoke is probobly a headgasket....

just to clarify, only reason you should re-ring is cuz ur heads gonna be off for the headgasket anyways....

in other news....i have a full gsr swap if your interested....100k miles on it fresh timing belt + tensioner...bone stock. comes with everything u need for the swap.

Well that's the thing.. This is a fresh rebuild. the Y8 broke a rod in half and put a hole in the block. So i rebuilt a Y7 block, kept the Y8 head on.

New headgasket, new rings.. but it's more likely for the rings to be bad than the headgasket i think b/c the cylinders had a little residue in them.. got rained on after i had the block honed.. got a hone from autozone and went through the cylinders myself

Also, changed my sig. I'm broke!

well idk but seeing how your comp is low across the board your timing would be a good suspect being this a rebuilt engine you sure it isnt just gray smoke fom unburned fuel
