auto to manual swap question.. HELP!!!!
I know this is stickied, but I do have one quick question. How do I bypass the clutch safty switch? In the write up they said the plug was there to just connect and go... but I went to start my car for the first time since the manual swap, with the p28 and it just cranked. The fuel pump didn't kick on, and the car didn't even try to fire. Any help would be great, I am trying SOO hard to get this beast running. THanks.

if its cranking then you've done the starting circuit right. If there was something wrong there there would be no power going to the engine and it wouldn't turn over. Check all your fuses and grounds. Did you do an engine swap at the same time?

engine swap? no. However I was going to put a turbo kit on it, and wired up a resistor box for some dsm 450's and ended up taking them out and replacing them with older style injectors so I could still use the box.
BUMP I need help guys. There has to be a reason for this to be doing what its doing. I smell no gas when the car cranks. I have NO clutch safty switch, nor do I have it in a compleated circuit. Someone please help car is a 97 ek coupe...
yes, along with the black with a blue stripe wire. I spliced them all together....I have no idea why fuel isn't getting to the motor.

Make sure the ECU ground at the thermostat is clean and well grounded. Had the same type issue once and the mechanic took hours to find the ground was no good. He moved it to the head.
If you painted the thermostat housing and didn't clean the matting surface, the paint is preventing the clean ground.
The ECU sends out a signal when you turn the key on. If the ground is not clean the signal never gets back to the ECU. The safety is, the ECU will not allow the fuel to pump.
