Default 1994 civic hatch wheel question

ok, I have performed 2 days of searching and have found no results. So, here is my question.

I have a set of 18 x 8 wheels with a +45 offset and just curious if anyone has done this type of fitment on a 1994 hatch. I have skunk 2 Pro-s coilovers with blox rear lower control arms. No camber adjustment done. I would like to see some pics. Thanks ahead of time and no flaming. If I wanted opinions, I would ask for them. I want facts or pics only.

No, it won't.

The problem with wheels that big is tire sizing. The smallest tires commonly sold for 18" wheels are 215/35-18. That size is HUGE, 5.7 percent (an inch and a quarter) bigger in diameter than your stock size of 175/70-13. People with older Civics have enough trouble when they try using 17" wheels. 18" tires are going to rub, big-time.

well as for the rubbing, they just touch the lip in the rear quarter panel. if I got this rolled It looks like it will clear. It looks like the fronts will clear with more than likely damage to the liner if I leave it dropped like this. I just wanted to know if anyone has done this type of fitment with a hatch. I know on the si coupes you can fit a huge wheel. The wheels have a 215/35-18 tire on them already.

What ever floats your boat. Like Nsxtasy said, 18s are way too big.. You will be much better off with 15s or 16s..

well i wasnt asking for opinions, I was asking if anyone had any fitment like this on the board or knew of anyone doing this big of a wheel. I have about 5 sets of wheels to choose from right now but I kinda like the thought of the 18s bc they are so huge. Anyone else?

btw- if i could find some 19s for as cheap as I got these 18s, i would do them also.

Outside of cardomain.com, I cannot think of a website where members pride themselves on extremely oversized wheel/tire combinations.

Yeah, it's just like asking who has done anything really stupid which can result in negative consequences - like who has had an engine fail after a "money shift", or who has had tire failures after mounting tires on wheels that are much too wide. When you don't get any negative responses, it doesn't mean no one has had problems; it means that no one is willing to admit it.

skip the haters man. I would do the same. My friends are die hard builders and racers and successful at it. the prob is that they are set in their own style so its hard to get facts without the oppinion. good luck. lets see what you end up with.

Please don't do this to yourself. My brother tried that back in the 90's in his old hatch. They will rub and you will have a rough ride.Leave 18's and 19's for the guys with s2k's,Tsx's,and TL's.

Odds are against them responding, since this thread is over a year and a half old.
