Default no vtec no codes

so i changed my clutch and axles, now vtec isnt working.

checked all wiring. tested the solenoid with an ohmmeter, ok, ran a wire to the positive batt term, clicked. checked the screen, clean.

vss connected, plugged in. speedo works

oil level is to the top dot.

vtec worked fine the day i started working on it.

any input appreciated, ive never had a problem like this and all my friends and i are stumped.

i changed the oil maybe a week before the clutch went, i used a mobil 1 filter, which i never used before. i know vtec worked bc i engaged it as the clutch started slipping, so it worked fine.
however, you're not the only one to suggest that so ill try changing it when i get home this afternoon. i doubt it will work but thanks.
anyone else?

with vtec not working you should get a code, try ridding first gear at 7000rpm for 5 seconds, it should make the light come on then and give you a better idea of whats wrong.
