Default Transmission dipstick on type s?

I have type s and my question is this... Is there any way to check the transmission fluid without taking the car in? Ive had the transmission fluid changed about 6 months ago but now im wondering if maybe im low on fluid for some reason. When i start out in first gear im starting to notice vibration when going into gear. No other gears do it. Could be something else with the transmission or maybe the axles, i have no idea. Any info helps! thanks

i think the only way is to remove the fill plug on the tranny and see if you can put more in there.

SO0o... does that mean unbolt the plug bolt and just put whatever i can in it? Do you fill it through the plug bolt as illustrated by the red arrow on the writeup mentioned by whiteonrice?

Fill it until the oil starts draining from the hole where the red arrow is on the bottom left. I use clear vacuum hosing from the hardware store and a regular funnel.

The write up was by WyldRice, not me. Damn us ricers!

Yes with the funnel and hose I mentioned. It's not very quick and easy btw.

what fluid are you using? I switched to synchromesh and it made a world of difference. But I also have to change my trans fluid every other oil change cause synchromesh doesn't last very long.

Just use Honda/Acura tranny fluid. And yeah, I doubt this is the problem.

If you noticed the problem after you took your vehicle in to get the transmission fluid changed, then most likely something happened. Few questions i'm pondering.

Where did you get your vehicle serviced at?
Did they use anything else other than Honda MTF?
Is 1st gear always an issue now with vibrations?
If you could try and detail the situation more, that would be helpful.

Yeah, it's likely they used the wrong fluid (Honda MTF fluid isn't sold by any auto part dealer and Honda also doesn't give out any "equivalents" for the part dealers to use). I'd get on the mechanic's case.
