I just got finished doing a routine oil change. That isn't the problem, when in the middle of the trans fluid flush, I was removing the speed sensor and I accidentally touched it to the car.... it resulted in a spark. I disconnected the battery and continued on with the fluid swap. When putting everything back together and trying to cycle the the fluid through it would not start. The battery is powering the lights and everything else. The starter won't do it's job. I checked the fuses and no such luck. A friend mentioned main relay. I am in the process of going over that. If anyone has any suggestions please help me out. The car is powered by a B16A for what thats worth and the car still remains OBD0

had a similiar thing happen to me but when i was puttin my sri, i disconnected the battery waited 10 mins, reconnected it an then no problems
sounds like a relay problem though if you wait 5 minutes and then it starts most likely is(relay needs to be resoldered)

negative, when I try to start the car the check engine light goes on then off, then it makes a click and I hear the fuel pump turn on. There is no starter involvement. The main relay checked out ok.... it was removed and it's back in but no luck. I am leaning on the starter solenoid or the starter relay. There is a long shot that there is a bad ground. It's too dark for me to check right now on the grounds. It will be done first thing in the morning.
tap the starter with something lightly a few times,if your starter is on it's way out
the tap might just line the teeth up inside and turn it over.just my 2 cents

alrighty we... just got the car running via bump start.... the car is idling fine. This should rule out the fuel pump and grounds.

Yea we had a track thing to do tomorrow so it would've sucked for him to travel home from law school to run the car. Thanks to everyone who made suggestions in this thread
