How can you tell the difference in 96-98 civic hood compared to a 99-00 civic with out trying to put it on? They both look very similar.

there is a way to look...look for a more aggressive headlight slant and that is the 99-00 hood. but it is hard to tell without tryin to put it on.

 

I know anyone have a picture comparison?

hope that helps you some...i know the pic of my car is hard to see...i have one with the hood up but its pretty close to the headlight if that might still help.

The 96-98 have a thicker pience between the grille and headlight, while the 99-00 have a thinner piece. there is about a 2cm difference so it is pretty easy to spot once you know what to look for.

 

96-98 is thicker in the spot between the headlight and the grill and 99-00 is thinier

96-98 grill is shorter than 99-00

If you can't tell visually, bring your grille with you to check (or measure the top of your grille).
