oil burned after event....
went to The Street of Willow last Saturday
and got home for a oil change, one full quart. of
Castrol syn 5w-50 is gone...
but this is not the worse...!!!
back in June, after a event in Fontana, i burned two quarts of my
Mobile Syntech 5w-30
are this normal to every of u that go to track???
and which grade of oil is better for street/track use?

lots of time in VTEC=Lots of oil burnt
I lose about 1 quart every 1000 miles, hard driving. Did a compression and leakdown test and everything was fine. Have no clue where it went

This one is new to me. What is the reasoning behind this? Increase exhaust flow equals increase oil burnt? What about those with high flow cats, same thing?
Will who burns twice as much oil when using a test pipe.

I guess extra time at 8000+ on track = oil eating anyway... but the lack of back pressure may have something to do with it.

That's why I opted for the high flow cat. I haven't noticed more oil burnt because of it.

not sure why.... but it does.. the smell =
This is normal. Just check your oil periodically when you're at the track.
BTW...
Mobil (actually, ExxonMobil Corporation) does not make an oil called Syntech. And they don't make any oil in Mobile, Alabama. But Mobil makes a synthetic oil called Mobil 1, and Castrol makes a synthetic oil called Castrol Syntec.

i have no vtec and i burn oil... at 3k miles, i checked my oil before the oil change and i barely had enough to drive the car without damaging it.
I did burn about 1 litre every 1000miles too (72K on engine), thought it might have been bad valve seals but it turned out the oil rings were fairly cooked, so replaced them and every other seal and gasket in the head plus comp rings, now no more burning oil at all!!!

i do use a oil catch can, and i do run on test pipe
but still it burnt one full quart of oil, not once but twice.
