A/F gauge fluctuating while cruising (searched this problem)
I had a little concern. I just re-installed my Intake mani and a AEM A/F ratio gauge. It shows 14.8-15 at idle and gets down to 11 at wot. But while I crusie the gauge bounces from 13.5-16.5. Is that normal? Also just threw a cel code 45...(too rich or too lean) Any advice on that? Maybe there is something I didnt think of so all comments are appreciated. thanks
mods are:
str tb w/ cai
accell 310cc injectors
aem fpr w/ gauge
handata im gasket

What are you using for tuning? It's normal for a narrow band O2 to switch, it's called closed loop, or feedback control. Is your af gage just a gage, or does it hook up to a wide band sensor?
I have a afc neo for tuning but its not tuned yet. I didnt have these problems before I removed the IM so it cant be because of a lack of a tune I think. I use a AEM wide band welded in the collector before the cat. any ideas?

Could be. Im getting it tuned at the begining of Nov. I blocked off the fitv and iacv when I did the reinstall. would that cause the cel? The str tb doesnt even use the fitv. Hmm...

AEM a/f gauges are widebands, not narrow bands.

What do you mean narrow band? The O2 sensor? The wide band is brand new so I hope its not that.
I rechecked the tps and it was a little off so I reset it to .51 at idle. Thats the most I could get out of it.
(blox TPS) Isn't it supposed to be around 0.45-0.50? I reset the ecu at the same time and so far no codes after 25 miles. But it took over 100 miles for it to trip the last time. Update tomorrow.
The wide band still fluctuates while cruising though. I dont know if this is normal.
thanks for reading people.

OKay thanks. This is my first time using a wide band.
CEL code 45 came back. And sometimes I get some idle bounce now. I guess I could route some coolant to the iacv only. I'll go do that I guess.

Hmm weird the lowest I can get out of it is .51. So Im getting mixed views on here, searching tells me closed should be .45-.50....

could be your neo since its not tuned yet. having set to 0 across the board might not be a good idea. its usually set at about +2at 1500rpm graduating down to -7 to -9 at 7500rpm. Thats what is usually tuned but all cars are different. you can give it a try little bit at a time using ur wideband.
