How much boost can a mini me handle
i am running a mini me y7/y8 turboed i have the blue box set @ 5 psi but i want more motor is stock only has thicker head gasket (0.51 mm cometic) and arp head studs anyone else running boosted mini me ? whats the highest psi i can safley run it on of course tuned differently any input will be greatly apprieciated ohh yea and what kind of hp's can i expect to get with more psi thanks...............

My y8 has held 240whp DDed for 30k miles now. Completely stock. That's on a t3/t04e .50trim .63 ar. at 10-11psi
At 8psi, I had 208whp.
First get rid of the blue box.

Its not how much psi can you run, its how much hp can you make safely. Psi is a changing factor on engines with different efficiency's

That's exactly the answer people need to hear. PSI in this case is ireelevant. Stock D series engines live comfortably in the 220-240whp range, but get a little finicky if you push them harder. Stay below that and youll be fine.

Its the rods and ringlands that are the weak link, and they can only take so much power. Lowering the compression just allows a bit more boost, mainly since each PSI makes less power. As long as its a good motor, it should take 10psi from any turbo up to a 60trim t3/t04e size. Beyond that and all bets are off. Its rather pointless to NOT go with a smaller turbo, since you just run more boost for the same power, but gain spool and usually more initial torque.
If you stick with the blue box, I'd stick to 5psi.
