Putting the head aside which of the two blocks mention in the title has the highest compression ratio? The D16Y is the 96+ VTEC block correct? Would it be benefical to use the D16Y cam vs. the D16Z cam, or would it make more sense to go aftermarket?

 

Y8 all the way...don't mix and match

 

I have a D16Z head that is milled and ported. If I use the D16Y8 block with that head would it yeild good gains?

 

me and my friend ran my z6 and his y8 against each other. pretty much ran rite next to each other the whole way with the winner determined solely by who got the better launch. one may have better compression or that 2 HP or watever, but i think in real life terms and on the street, it doesnt make a significant difference

 

wrong, i run a D16Y7, non-vtec . They are in 96 and 97 delsol S types
