Default y5 block with z6 head

what would the compression be...wouldnt it be like 12:1 or something liek that....something really high?

my friend has a y5 block and is putting a z6 head on....im just trying to help him along.

Also will the head studs line up and such?

Would he be just better off turboing a y5?

compression will be 9.2ish:1. the y5 has the same block and head as a d16y8 (verified by part#'s, but that may have just been the head) with just a different cam design, roller rockers and different lower compression pistons.

the z6 has more compression chamber volume than the y5/y8, which will result in a lower compression.

Ive never seen any definitive flowbench tests verifying that the z6 flows better than the y8, so that is still conjecture. other than cam options i cant think of any real reasons to go through the hassle of the head swap. when bense was ***** deep into his y5/b5 build he was talking with crower and they apparently do custom regrinds for ~100 with a core cam. something to think about if he decides to stay y5.

wouldnt it be a different setup with e-vtec.....would that still yield good power?

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1414454 read in here for a little bit, on the first page in the giant quote box there is a small turbo dyno link, and discussion of the y5 engine's pro's and con's.
