Default 97 HX really wierd!!!

Ok i have been trying to get some info on this subject for awile now without any luck, so maybe somebody could help!!
97 Civic hx (was an auto)
ok we dont a manual conversion using d16y8 intake mani, swaped out the IACV, pedals, using a d16y8 ecu car run's fine just a CEL problem!!

Since we done the swap he have been having a hard time with some CEL when we run the y8 ecu we get a CEl# 45, we picked up a HX manual ecu and get a CEL #41

Been doing some research and it turns out that the Manual HX's use a five wire o2 sensor, while the auto Hx's and most others Dx,EX use the 4 wire.

I am thinking that both codes are related to the o2.
Should we go and try to find a 96-98 Ex,Dx harness and run the 4 wire o2 with the EX ECU. Or run the HX ecu and wire in the fifth wire for the o2?

If wiring in the 5 wire o2sensor is gonna be the fix then what would be the wiring schematics for this project??? Please some og Honda guru's help!!!!

Code 45=Fuel system too rich or lean
code 41=Primary oxygen sensor heater

You guess on the o2 code's was correct. I would get a 4 wire harness would be the easiest thing to do in my opinion

Good luck.

There is another problem with getting an ex wiring harness and using a 4 wire ecu. The hx valves and vtec work differently thne the ex head. THe vtec crosses over at a much lower rpm then does the ex. The Ex is aroung 4500 and the hx is around 2800. If you use an ex ecu, its going to run alittle funny inbetween 2800 and 4500 rpms. The hx valves also work differently. It doesn't use them all until vtec crosses over.

My advice is to wire up a 5-wire o2 sensor and retain some of your hx gas mileage. You may also ruin into an egr valve problem using the hx ecu since the y8 intake does not have an egr valve. OR, gget an ex head and wire harness to use your ex ecu.

So you think we should run the HX ECU then wire in the 5wire o2. SOunds like a plan but can anybody pull up the wiring digram for this??

Dude you're not gonna get much help there, use the search function, there are a slew of wiring diagrams on here.

You need to google for a pdf version of the 96-00 service manual. You should be able to find it and down load it for free. That will give you all the wiring info you need.

Ok seeing as we are using a y8 manifold (which i am guessing does not have a EGR valve) with the manual HX ECU how can we get pass the CEL 12 EGR. some way to do so???
