Default Type R/LS

I am converting my ls to vtec and i got a type r head (b18c) and i need to know if the deck clearance for my ls pistons will work with the head or if i have to replace them with Type R. also if the ls cam gears will work with type r cams.

lol. I love when people buy parts without research and they have no idea if they'll work properly or not.

This must be the new ricer mentality, because I'm seeing a lot of posts like this lately.

i didnt buy without resurching. i was told by someone who has done a conversion before that it will work and then after i got all the parts he said that he is thinking that the dome of the pistons is different. all i need to know is if the clearance will work not get some smart comment everyone has to start some where.

The clearance will work. He is correct, the dome of the pistons is different, but you'll be fine as far as the motor running. However, don't expect very high compression with stock LS pistons and a B16 casting head.
