Default Problems starting. Click, Click, Click ---- then it starts up? Bad starter?

Basically, i have been having this intermittent problem. When I go to start the car, sometimes its fine, others, it will just click, but won't even turnover. Usually, a couple of tries and it will turn, but the other day, it just didn't even turnover, i had to pop the clutch to get it started (late for work). Anyway, i think it is the starter, but wasn't sure if anyone could confirm or if they have had a similar prob with a '95 gsr or honda at around 89k. Is this a common failure?

Thanks.

Well, with my crx, I had the same problem, but sometimes it smoked under the dash!! Turned out to be a bad ground... Specifically, the one where the negative battery cable attaches to the clutch bracket. Forgot to tighten it when I put my new motor in.

If your battery and cables are ok, it's probably your starter.

I had that problem on my GSR and it was the lead that goes to the starter. Just had to recrimp it. I would check the wiring first since it is free to do. I don't know about Honda starters, but when some starters start to do that you can bang them with a wrech and the problem will be fixed temperarily. If it isn't starting one day, try that and see if it starts.
